ROLLE, Switzerland, Aug. 9, 2023 – PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES®
project in Rolle, Switzerland that helped revitalize a municipal building and the surrounding area. The project
brought together more than 25 PPG volunteers from Rolle and across France who painted murals on a former water
purification plant and beautified the surrounding area.
PPG volunteers have completed a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® that helped revitalize a municipal building and the surrounding area in Rolle, Switzerland.
PPG provided more than $45,000 (44,000 Swiss francs), including 200 liters of SEIGNEURIE™ paints by PPG,
including Seigneurie Garnotec Aero and Seigneurie Liswood Aqua. Seigneurie Garnotec Aero
uses PPG LIGHT & EASY® lightweighting technology, which has been designed to improve painters’ daily
lives thanks to better application comfort and easier handling.
A blue color scheme was chosen to create a water-like background for two murals, which were painted by volunteers
under supervision of a local artist Philippe Baro. The murals represent the
biodiversity of Lake Geneva above and below the water, with depictions of the northern pike and the great crested
grebe.
“We are very grateful for PPG's help. The building, which is located in a popular park, was deteriorating and
wasn´t visually appealing,” said Nicolas Walter, Representative of the Municipal Council, Commune de
Rolle. “The freshly painted façade and murals create a more welcoming environment and encourage the
public to think about importance of local biodiversity.”
“PPG's support for this initiative goes beyond grants. We pair our high-quality products with our enthusiastic
employee volunteers to beautify communities around the world,” said Pedro Serret-Salvat, PPG president and
general counsel, EMEA. “But we couldn't complete this project without the cooperation of the municipality of
Rolle. We are proud to be part of such vibrant community, which is host to our European headquarters.”
