SRIPERUMBUDUR, India--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project that helped revitalize the Government Higher Secondary School in Sriperumbudur, India. The Colorful Communities program provides PPG volunteers and products along with financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world, such as in Sriperumbudur, where PPG has a PPG Asian Paints facility.

The project brought together more than 30 PPG volunteers, who spent four hours painting classrooms at the school. PPG provided $9,300 to assist with the project, including more than 740 liters (195 gallons) of ASIAN PAINTS™ paint products.

A color palette that included pink, yellow, green and bluewas chosen to provide a bright and colorful learning environment. The school, which has around 400 students in the sixth through 12th standards, is the only higher secondary school for boys in Sriperumbudur and serves more than 30 surrounding villages.

Hand In Hand India facilitated the Colorful Communities project in Sriperumbudur on behalf of PPG Asian Paints. The non-profit also supported a 2016 Colorful Communities project at the Government Middle School in Mambakkam, Sriperumbudur, India.
